Dr. Joy Mutare Fashu Kanu was born in Zimbabwe a few miles from the mighty Mosi-oa-Tunya (Victoria Falls). She is a descendant of the Ndau-Shangani people and co-founded PiTaV as a way to support the families of Glen View, the community she grew up in.

Dr. Lydia Makotamo has served on the PiTaV, Inc. board since 2017. She is currently working on her doctorate in Chemistry and is an amazing community advocate who is passionate about women in science. She is also a mentor and Co-President of Women in STEM at her school. She enjoys hiking, running, and poetry.
